List of Cool Stuff
My intention is to gradually assemble a list of links to projects I like.
- Bluesky, albiet questionably decentralized, is the most popular Twitter replacement to date.
- FreshRSS RSS feed aggregator.
- Proton privacy-focused Internet services.
- Michael Horowitz's sites DefensiveComputingChecklist.com and RouterSecurity.org.
- The Lounge web IRC client.
- The Plain Bagel YouTube channel explains a variety of investment concepts for beginners. The Basics playlist is a great starting point. The host, Richard Coffin, is a Canadian CFA (verification) and CFP (verification).
- Tor Project anti-censorship Internet privacy.
- Quad9 anti-malware and privacy-focused DNS resolver with DoH/DoT support.
Lego
- JANGBRiCKS YouTube channel does unsponsored set reviews and builds an amazing train layout on his second channel.
- Larry's Lego YouTube channel builds miniature trains, including impressive Thomas adaptations.
- R. R. Slugger digs deep (pun intended) into many pre-2000 series, especially Rock Raiders. I feel inspired by his approach to video production—it's really something to see.
